I have recently bought a 55 plate 1.9 TDCI Zafira Design annd when you put your foot down and let it off it whistles like it has a hole in the turbo pipe or something took it back to the garage i bought it off and they said that this was normal as they are fitted with a Dump valve type thing that makes it make this noise just wondered if this was true?

yea that is true any turbo will have that it is because the turbo will wind up as you accelerate then when you back off the throttle it will release the pressure
nothing to worry about
