I just had to change the thermostat in my 04 plate 2 DTI.

In the good old days it was a simple case of top up with standard antifreeze. Now it appears things are not that easy. Apparently alluminium engines require Organic acid (OAT) containing antifreeze.

Current price is £15 for 5 litrepre mixed from Vauxhall main agent. Halfords do suitadbe conc OAT antifreeze £8 1 litre which is enough for a thermostat change.(it is pink in colour)

Comma Xstream G30 Antifreeze and coolant is probaly the best buy.

Lots of info on Comma Lubricants web site.

Hope this may be of assistance
