It sounds like it has been disconnected from the inside it often happens when people install aftermarket stereo's or have to change the part of the dash, They normally just click into place so not too hard to fix.
Your best bet is to close all vents when running the car and once its warm put the air flow on full if the dash feels warm after about 5 minutes it looks like its just been disconected.

I found that the pollen filter was blocked up on mine,i removed the plastic panel under the glovebox and then removed the glove box to get access to it,i also found the cover over the blower fan had lifted out of the way as well as that's on a motor with an arm and i found that the ball on the lid had been glued on,so i just pulled the blower fan cover down and screwed it in place,after removing the pollen filter first.
