HiI have a 2007 model 1.8 petrol Zafira which has done about 40.000 miles. About 2 weeks ago it developed a problem and started mis firing. It went in to Vauxhall and the ignition pack was diagnosed as faulty and replaced along with a service which cost £600!A week later the engine light is back on, so it went back again today. i have now been told that the faulty ignition pack caused the cat to fail although this does not always show up straight away? I have been quoted nearly £1,000 to fix it
.Does this sound right? Seems a 4 year old car with 40k on the clock should not be having these problems.Seems to run ok, would it be ok to drive without replacing the cat at the moment or would this cause damage to the engine? Can a cat be refurbished or fixed?Any advice much appreciated.Thanks.R
