Hi there new to this site. Found it whilst googling Zafira probems!
Has anyone had any problems with the engine waring light coming on and associated loss of power? Zafira been in local garage several times over last few months. No problem found except coil pack. OK for a week then started again. Problem resolved until this week. Finally broke down in chitty bang bang style, total loss of power, dashboard all lit up and ground to a halt on tuesday night! Is a dead as a dodo now!!
Any advice welcome...and yes have considered matches!!!(joke)

Yea big difference as the diesels will do it on a regular basis as very sooty on recirculation of exhaust gases but u will be pleased to know the petrols don't suffer with that but might make the problem more difficult to find. Is it, 1.6? and how many miles has it done?

Hi there. Yes 1.6 and 16V petrol. Only done 43,000 miles. Had heard that if you use them as a run around and not take them out for a good run at least once a week then problems more likely to occur!
Vauxhall "specialist" having fun finding problem...had to tow car in on Saturday. Have said that the starter motor has gone but have never had an issue with it starting. Have read codes and said engine misfired...you don't say!!! Only thing they can try is changing the ECU. Sound like they are wildly stabbing in the dark and £££'s building up!
Was going to trade her in but she went and died on me 1st!
Thanks for replying, without sarcasm!!

Honestly I would get it into your local Vauxhall Dealer if only for a diagnosis. Once you know what the fault is u can take it any where. Sounds like your specialist has no idea and just replacing bits will get real expensive real quick. ECUs are mega bucks!.
