My Vauxhall Zafira 2.0 diesel 2003 is playing up. Service light comes on, and i lose power it goes into "get you home" mode. when it cools down its fine, this is my first Zafira is this a common fault and does anyone have any idea what's wrong and how to rectify it, cheers in advance.

EGR valve. Needs a clean out. Mine done the same

It's fine driving in limp mode but does get annoying. Just remove the inlet and clean it out with brake cleaner, then spray the piston in the EGR valve. It'll take a couple of days to sort its sell out but it beats buying a new one
