Hi there
I have just bought my first Vauxhall, a Zafira 03 and all is great with the car.
but I only got one remote key with the car?

so my quest began with getting a second hand one off ebay..

getting a new blank of ebay,
and fitting the old micro chip in the new blank key
getting it cut and all is fine
, I have set the car to remote unlock my doors.. but not able to start the engine? it started then died on me.
but upon reading around the www trying to get details as to how to re prog my second hand key fob,I noticed thatI will still need to go the Vauxhall Dealer to get it set to my car?

is this the case?

if so! how much would it cost?

and is there any way of getting this done on the cheap, from some dodgy geeza down the road lol
as allI need is the thing set to my Zaffy
any help and advice would be fab from you guys

Thanks for reading this andI look forward to reading about all your woes n tales in the future

im sorry to say yes if you do not have a specialist in your area, you will have to take it to the dealer.it should be no more than half an hours labour but you will need the vehicle security pass or this will cost you about £25 for this.the reason the vehicle cuts out is because the immobiliser does not recognise the chip.
i hope this helps you,craig.

Hi Graig
cheers for the advice.. and yes you have been of great help bud

mmm now where or how doI find a Vauxhall specialist ? ( do you mean a private or non vauxhall dealer specialist?)

where would I find the "Vehicle Security Pass" is it in the paperwork somewhere as I can not find anything that might relate to the "VSP" what does it look like, 5 or 10 digits long or something like that.

any ideas please

cheers again for replying back

i mean an independant vauxhall specialist, they should have a machine called tech 2,they will need it to program your key to the vehicles system.my advise would be to google it or try the local paper.
the car pass is credit card shape/size and it will state car pass on one side and have a list of vehicle specific details on the other side.the first line will have the vehicles chassis no on it.it would have been in the vehicles owners pack when new generally in the flap.

i hope this helps you,craig.
