I've just picked up a 2017 zafira, it's the 1.4 petrol turbo engine.

It's had a main dealer service history most of its life and around 6 months ago had its timing chain replaced, there were notes to say the chain guides had to be fished out of the sump. It's on 54k miles so I'm hopeful I'll get the same again out of this chain and hopefully more... Which leads me to an oil question.. As this will be a main reason for chains failing...

What's the best grade of oil to use... 5w30 fully synthetic?.. Or would a thinner when cold oil like a 0w30 be better?... Have I read that these engines suffer from LSPI, so specific API rated oil is recommended?
