bought my Zaffi about 10 days ago privately.
loved it until it started getting a little niggle. some times you had to removed the key and try reinserting and trying again a couple of times.
stared searching the net and this site. most pointed at the CIM or lost remote chip.
when it does not start it acts like the key is notrecognised. immobiliser still active. - Car with spannerilluminated - no fuel pump running or general electricalnoise. windowslights etc work as normal same as locking and unlocking car.
there is also no cranking of theengine.

then last weekend it started getting worseon occasion it has taken longer to start such as 25 mins of key in turn and nothing. then suddenly it will work. and run fine. The next day it will start first time.
I have taken it to Vauxhall Fareham who innately they did not believe there was a fault as there was not fault code blaming the batteries in the keys. these were changed again to satisfy them.
then they were going to change the CIM (the receiver on the steering column) on third time at the fareham branch it failed in the work shop. they said it showed a fault code for the ECU maybe loom. quoting over ÂŁ800 (with discount) for suppling and fitting a new unit. but kept mentioning this was a first stage fix and does not guarantee that it is the problem and i may have to spend even more.

having just bought the car. I don't want to keep throwing money at the car until something works.
I have emailed a couple of companies (2 local, one far away needing posting to them) to see if they can help with my problem. Possibly repair/replace ECU or even remove theimmobilisercoding completely.

but if anyone has anyexperience or advice, iopen to ideas.
